Managing over 60 projects and initatives, all in different phases is a comon challenge for every PMO. Moreover Program Management's methodology, unlike Project Management is not that well developed and widely understood or used. For simplicity we introduced the two level model.
Level 1 is where we map all projects creating a visualization of projects that are following different delivery cycles, For example a major program that combines construction, IT infrastructure, Communications, Engineering and other departamental projects and aims to create a new buisness service. The goal of all Level 1 Programs is to glue all these pieces and provide a single view for effective common governance.
Level 2 programs are the so called "delivery vehicles". This type of programs are ideal for various projects that can follow the same project delivery cycle. At this level, all projects and initiatives are delivered in a standardized, proven approach, aligned to best practices and efficiencies are gained from economies of scale and synergies. Kanban boards (online) and tools like Jira are ideal representation at this level. We have proven history of helping our clients setting up successful Level 1 and Level 2 programs.
